Very early map that includes the Gold Regions of California and focuses on the western half of the country. The map includes an inset scroll of the Gold Region of California at lower left with details of rivers and place names in the gold bearing region. Over the central states is the title in a vignette with a table of distances below. There are unusual boundaries of the western territories and Mormon Settlement in the vicinity of Salt Lake City. Large territorial depictions for Oregon, Utah and New Mexico. Text on verso with wood engravings.
