1) Porto Rico, by Arnoldus Montanus, circa 1671 (13.7 x 11.2") A classic early view of San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico. Galleons and other vessels in the harbor are dominated by its fortress. The view is adorned with a ribbon style title cartouche. This view was prepared for Montanus' important work on the New World, Die Nieuwe en Onbenkende Weerld. It is a sharp impression and in fine condition.

2) Carte de L'Isle de Sainte Croix / Carte de L'Isle de Saint Jean de Portorico, by Nicolas Bellin, circa 1764, B/W (6.8 x 8.7") Two detailed maps on a single sheet from Bellin's influential Petit Atlas Maritime. There is a bit of light foxing in margins.

3) Port et Ville de Porto-Rico dans l'Isle de ce nom, by Nicolas Bellin, Petit Atlas Maritime, circa 1764, B/W (12.5 x 8.3") This is a detailed map of the fortification of San Juan with excellent information on the soundings, anchorages and navigational hazards in the harbor. Toned with some foxing.
