This is a superb copper engraving of the Elizabethan Tower of London and fortifications forming the ancient domain of the Crown that had jurisdiction and privileges independent from the City of London. The plan is a copy of Haiward and Gascoyne's survey of 1597 published for the Society of Antiquaries.
