This is a backed and bound example of the Illustrated London News' supplement that was "Given with the Illustrated London News" in 1845. The double panoramic perspectives of London are as seen from the south between Vauxhall Bridge, and from the Isle of Dogs. Printed one above the other on one sheet by William Little. The bird's-eye views are mounted on period linen and bound in original marbled cover (13"x 17") with morocco spine and corners. The leather label "River Thames in 1845" features a decorative border and lettering in gilt. This is a great panoramic work with many ships, trains, bridges, and much more. A seldom offered and early promotional piece given to all subscribers.

The map is in good condition with no tears or splits, but with scattered foxing and one spot of abrasion between view panels. The covers are very nice with just a little rubbing and a little darker at left side of front cover.
