Centered on the riverside town of Namur at the confluence of the Meuse and Sambre rivers, this map is based on the once secret map of Jacques Surhon (1555). It features magnificent title and distance scale cartouches. A third cartouche has a man standing next to a large compass. French text, block capital letter, fancy engraved decoration, and the title "le Comet de Namur" on verso.

Great impression and modern coloring with wide margins. Lightly toned along centerfold, still very good. A small stain in lower margin and two printer's creases, all well away from map image.
