This excellent woodblock view portrays Frankfurt am Main. The bird's eye prospective provides a panoramic view of the houses, churches, and cathedral within the city walls and the boats, weirs and bridges on the river. It is decorated with a large coat of arms, two cartouches containing keys and held aloft by putti, and a unique compass floating in the river. Latin text on verso.
