Attractive title page, printed in red and black, with an extensive title that includes several decorative capitals. Very nice inset map in the lower half (5.2 x 4") is a polar projection of the northern hemisphere showing California as an island. The map has a banner title and is surrounded by the sun, moon and stars. This is the same map featured on the Grosser Atlas page, as given in the above reference. The Homannischer Atlas was issued into the 1780's.

A lovely example with a dark impression printed in black and red on fine hand laid paper with full original margins. One or two insignificant spots and two small holes at extreme edge of paper.
