This map reveals significant detail of soundings and hazards to navigation. It shows islands in the St. Lawrence to the east-northeast of Isle d'Orleans and delineates the Iberville Channel -- the ancient one and the current ship channel hugging the northwest shoreline. Rococo-style cartouche is inland of the shoreline and a fleur-de-lys lies above the intersection of rhumb lines.
