This little map presents an early view of Mississippi Territory, which was formed out of the western portion of Georgia, and included present day Alabama. West Florida is shown to the south, separated from East Florida by the Apalachicola River. The map provides excellent information on rivers, swamps, early settlements and Indian villages. Of special note are the indications of early roads, including the Natchez Trace.
