A very scarce advertising ephemeral map focusing on the Caribbean and the Spanish American War. Map shows the region from southern Florida to Grenada, with insets of San Juan, Havana and the Santiago Campaign. Filled with military positions, movements, ships, etc. The inset of Havana details batteries, hospitals, barracks, the Cabana Castle, arsenals, and more. The inset at lower left shows the Santiago Campaign, June-July 1898 with excellent detail of positions, movements, trenches, and more. Remarkable features throughout, right down to showing where and when Ensign Bagley was killed. Folds into printed wrappers (3.3 x 5.5") that are "Compliments of Rice & Miller Wholesale Hardware. Manufactures Agents for Chilton Paint and Compo-Board, 28 Broad St., Bangor, ME, Telephone 19-2." On the back cover is an extensive list of products sold by Rice & Miller.

Very nice example with just a spot of toning where the map is adhered to folder.
