A very unusual, striking engraving featuring a magnificent 32-point compass rose or wind rose, paired on the same page with a map of an invented coastline used to illustrate a key and explanation of labeling for topographic map features. Explanatory Latin text on verso. Size given is for both engravings.

Strong impression with some damp staining just into neatline. Very faint manuscript letters added with a quill to the map at some point in the distant past. Couple light printer's creases in compass rose.
