This is an uncommon little map from Colom's only land atlas. It the region along the present French and Belgian border with the fortified cites of Douai, Lille and Tournai. The map is embellished with an attractive title cartouche featuring a mythical warrior. Jacob Aertsz Colom was the founder of the Colom publishing company. He founded the Navigation School in Amsterdam, and published a number of fine sea charts, coasting pilots and this small atlas of the Low Countries.
