This is a rare, large-scale map of Baie de la Somme and the fortifications in the vicinity including Abbeville, Montreuil and Eu. The map is filled with minute detail of roads, forests, marshes, dunes and even the tiniest villages. The sea is filled with an array of various ships and boats. The wind compass is one of the most unusual and elaborate we have ever seen with angels representing Boreas, Eurus, Auster and Zephirus and incorporating the North Star, Ursa Minor and the zodiac.
