Large and very finely engraved map depicting the whole Indian continent including Ceylon and the Maldive Islands. The map provides excellent details of the topography, settlements and roads. It is colored to depict the British possessions (red) and the Marratta Countries (green). A jungle scene with an elephant surrounds the title cartouche and the distances scales are enclosed in a scroll-style cartouche at top.
