Very interesting and ornate series of views detailed with the people of the Barbary Coast. On the top of the sheet are three main views of Algiers; one showing ships battling in the bay, the next showing a funeral and the final one showing how they executed criminals by hurling them off of the battlement wall onto a giant hook. On the bottom of the sheet are three excellent views of the bays and towns of Gigery, Tripoli and Tunisia. The bordering vignettes focus on the inhabitants and their mortuary customs. The central text is a description of the inhabitants of these places in French.
