This is a gorgeous group of botanical engravings. Maund was a pharmacist, botanist and bookseller who was most noted as the publisher of several botanical periodicals with beautifully colored plates. The plates are not merely pretty plates; some are presented in a scientific manner with a small images left uncolored so that the viewer could examine leaf and flower structures. This group includes rhododendron, poinsettia, fuchsia, and many other perennial favorites.
