Magnificent depiction of Brazil with north oriented to the right by a handsome compass rose. The map is inset with regions of Dutch interest in the area, Baja de Todos los Sanctos & Pernambuco, which is set within a strapwork cartouche. The interior is filled with dramatic scenes of headhunting and warfare, cannibalism and napping in a hammock. There is a little monkey bearing a rose, a gray parrot and an odd, long-eared goat walking the interior land, which is bereft of other detail. The decorative title cartouche is supported by two natives, and the seas have two ships sailing in them as well as a sea monster. Latin text on verso.
