A delightful little map of Iceland that is based on the map of Joris Carolus. M. Hekla is shown erupting and the title cartouche is fashioned in the shape of a volcano. Pierre Duval was Nicolas Sanson's nephew and pupil. He published a wide range of atlases and individual maps including a fine miniature world geography with many of the maps based on Sanson.
