This attractive map of Friesland and Groningen is engraved in Mercator's strong style with a moiré patterned sea that beautifully illustrates the strong currents flowing in the Waddinzee. The map is adorned with two strapwork title cartouches and Mercator's imprint at lower right. Blank verso.

Centerfold reinforced and a couple of marginal tears repaired on verso.
