Delightful miniature map of the Loire River valley including Blois and Orleans. The map is oriented with east at top, and Chartres Cathedral is noted at the upper left corner. Embellished with a strapwork title cartouche and scale of arms. The map was engraved by the brothers Ambrose and Ferdinand Arsenius who had been assistants to Frans Hogenburg and co-engravers of Ortelius' folio Theatrum. This series of maps was accompanied by text by Michel Coignet and was published by Jan B. Vrients. Italian text on verso.
