Charming map of western Africa featuring the Sahara Desert, the Niger River and the coasts of Guinea, Benin, etc. The map is filled with interior detail, some of which is spurious, such as the course and lakes along the Niger River. Engraved by Antoine d' Winter for a scarce pirated edition of Sanson's pocket atlas. The map is completed by a lovely, wreath style cartouche.
