Nice pair of matched maps from a Dutch edition, engraved by J. van Schley. The first (10.2 x 9.5") covers the southwestern coast of Africa extending from Benguela to the Cape of Good Hope, presenting coastal detail only. The second (9.7 x9.5") covers the southeastern coast from the Cape of Good Hope through Cabo Delgado. Part of the coast of Madagascar is shown. The maps are beautifully decorated with elaborate title cartouches, simple key cartouches and compass roses. Dutch titles in bottom margins.
