Wonderful folding map of Philadelphia showing the city as it was prior to the opening of the Centennial Exhibition of 1876. The site of the International Exhibition is clearly noted on the map near the Schuylkill River. The map is filled with detailed information on the city with streets and important buildings named. Rittenhouse Square is clearly noted, as is City Hall and Washington Square. The map is extensively hand colored to show the various routes of the horse car routes with a color key at upper left. It folds into original brown covers with gilt titling (4 x 6.5")
