A fabulous collection of steel engraved views of Scotland by three well known artists; T. Allom, W.H. Bartlett and H. McCulloch. Volume I (1838) is complete and filled with wonderful tidbits for travelers including historical facts, footnotes and poetry. Vol. I. 2pp., engraved vignette on half-title, title page, dedication, preface, Table of Contents, List of Illustrations, folding map of Scotland, 2-200 pp., and 41 plates interspersed throughout the text, including views of Edinburgh, Holyrood Chapel, Stirling Castle, and Roslyn Chapel. 8vo. Original blue cloth covers with half leather, ribbed spine and tips with gilt title on spine. 37 additional engravings from Vol. II (1847) feature both title pages and views of Loch Ness, Dunbarton Castle, St. Andrew's and many others.

Volume I engravings and text very good with occasional scattered foxing. Covers detached and with some shelf wear. Corners scuffed and bumped. Spine cracked with some loss. Volume II engravings with some soiling and scattered foxing.
