This is a very scarce little map of the Wester-goe, or western land in the province of Friesland from Colom's only land atlas. The map is adorned with a decorative cartouche supported by two cherubs, a strapwork scale of miles and a simple compass orienting north to the right corner. Jacob Aertsz Colom started the Colom publishing company. He founded the Navigation School in Amsterdam, and published a number of fine sea charts, coasting pilots and this small atlas of Belgium and The Netherlands.
