Scarce small map of Asia based on the cartography of Johann Schreiber. Japan appears as a large landmass separated by the Fretum de Vries from Compagnie Land. A string of prominent islands stretch south from Japan to Nova Britania and Nova Guinea. The map is embellished with a decorative title cartouche and a compass rose. A panel of German text at right describes the major regions and there is additional text at bottom.
