An uncommon and graphic map of the Holy Land filled with biblical scenes, similar to those by Visscher and Stoopendaal. A compass rose orients the map with north in the top right corner. The large decorative title cartouche at bottom is flanked with the four evangelists and vignettes depicting the life of Christ, including his birth, crucifixion and resurrection. The sea journey of the Apostle Paul to Rome is tracked on the upper right. At the top, putti hold banners with the key to the map and scale of miles, while tiny ships sail in the sea. Published in a German Bible by Theodor Falkeisen.
