Beautifully engraved view of Batavia (Jakarta), showing the busy trading port with a plethora of East India Company ships in the bay. The view is titled with a banner-style cartouche and is on a full sheet of Dutch text. (9 x 13.75") The verso has an equally lovely, although uncolored view of Jakarta showing the countryside surmounted with an angel bearing a crest.

The view is very good; the sheet has a few light marginal stains and spots.
