Unusual sea chart printed on two joined sheets showing the South African coastline from Cape Negro (Ponta da Marca) down to Capetown. The map is inset with a view of Saldanha Bay, complete with soundings and a compass rose. The right portion of the map shows coastal profiles of Angola, the Cape of Good Hope and more. The map is enhanced with a decorative cartouche featuring natives of the area with the men crafting weapons while the women care for children. The map is further adorned with a pair of compass roses, a sailing ship and a sea monster

Lovely color and impression on the double-thick sheets typical for sea charts. A couple of short, marginal tears are repaired on the verso with archival tape.
