This is a large vellum leaf from a Spanish manuscript, probably a legal document, made in Granada. The Spanish text is written in dark brown ink on lines ruled in red. The verso is beautifully decorated with a very large (ten-line) illuminated "S" in blue and white on a rich ground of gold leaf, while the recto has a large gilt "A" on a blue field illuminated with gold.

The verso has a little flaking of the text. The recto has some damage to the gilt 'A' as well as some flaking of the text.
