Fine lot of original manuscript leaves from an Ottoman period Koran that was used by a faith-healing sect of Sufi Islam. The text and marginal notations are in Arabic. The highly polished paper is characteristic of that used for sacred texts. It was made by a separate guild and is sized with albumen and polished with an agate polisher. The text is written in black ink, highlighted in gold and red and enclosed in gold borders. Includes nice marginalia.
