This is the first major historical atlas of the United States. An indispensable reference with good maps, including reproductions of early maps, statistical data, and descriptive text providing comprehensive information on the nation's development. Part I contains the text and index in 162 pages; Part II contains 688 maps in 166 plates. Published jointly by Carnegie Institution of Washington and the American Geographical Society of New York. Hardbound, green cloth, with gilt lettering on front and spine.

Contents near fine with just the usual light toning. Covers a bit shelf worn with a couple small splits in front hinge. Spine sound and binding still very tight. This copy has seen little use.
