1) Maps and Map-Makers This is an important standard work for any collector's library that provides information on the principal map-makers and publishers throughout the history of cartography. Written by R.V. Tooley, New York, 1990 (7.5 x 10") 8vo. Hardbound in original cream cloth with gilt title on spine, with illustrated dust jacket. Near new condition with only the slightest amount of soiling on the jacket's edges.
2) Tooley's Dictionary of Mapmakers This book provides information on about 20,000 cartographers, engravers, and publishers active from earliest times until 1900. R.V. Tooley, New York, 1979 (7 x 10") 8vo. Soft laminated cover. Text and images generally very good. Covers have light soiling, and spine is creased from use.
3) Mapmakers of the Sixteenth Century and Their Maps Illustrated with twenty-three maps, this book describes the biographies of 88 of the most influential cartographers and the bibliographies of more than two thousand maps, books etc. Written by Robert W. Karrow, Jr., Chicago, 1993 (10.5 x 7.5") 8vo, 846 pp. Hardbound in original green cloth with white titling on spine, with decorative dust jacket in protective sleeve.
