Lovely vignettes drawn by J. Marchant and engraved by J. Rogers embellish this map of North America. Texas is shown as a state with the enlarged panhandle that extends into New Mexico and Colorado. Mexico is still in control of California and the Southwest. The boundary between Canada and the United States reflects British claims in the Oregon Territory with a dotted line fixing the boundary south of the Columbia River. The map is filled with forts and locates many Indian tribes. Vignettes include An Ancient Monument in Mexico, Convoy of Diamonds, Falls of Niagara, Beavers, Elk, and North American Indians. Across the top are Russian Cossacks (representing the Russian Possessions in Alaska), an Eskimo dog sled and Mount Hekla, Iceland.
