Pair of maps of the growing United States.
1) This interesting map still has Wisconsin, part of Minnesota and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan named as the Northwest Territory. Further west is the large Missouri Territory and the newly formedOregon Territory. Arkansas Territory is still in its elongated configuration, and Texas is shown as a province of Mexico. Robinson, circa 1848. (16.5 x 10") Grade B. Centerfold has been reinforced with tissue. There is a bit of paper loss in lower margin, not affecting map. Some light soiling, mostly in margins.
2) This terrific map shows the eastern portion of the recently annexed state of Texas and the proposed state of Iowa with a slightly pentagonal shape. Engraved by Findlay and published by W. Tegg & Co., circa 1846. (10.3 x 8.6"). Grade A. Lower margin reinforced with tissue. Impression is crisp and bright.
