This scarce piece of ephemera is a promotional map for the short-lived Bullfrog Mining District in southern Nevada, whose logo is a happy looking bullfrog. Centered on the town of Rhyolite, it covers an area of approximately seven by eight miles, locating the Las Vegas & Tonopah R.R., and the few existing auto roads, here called Automobile Lines. The main feature of the map is the huge number of mining claims with their owner's names. Surrounding the map in block letters; "Compliments of the Forward Mining Development Co., The Patrick Investment Company, Fiscal Agents, 19 Toltec Block Denver, Colorado." A note at the bottom specifies that one of the mines is the "Famous Montgomery-Shoshone Group bought by Chas. Schwab for $5,000." Printed by the Williamson-Hafner Co., Denver. Uncolored except for the Patrick properties, which are noted in red overprinting.
