This rare pocket map was produced in 1829, probably the first edition for Langdon . The map includes large engravings of the Mercantile Exchange and City Hall. Published by J. Langdon, 151 Fulton Street, it appears to be the same map that appeared in Hardie's Description of the City of New York, except Langdon's name has replaced that of S. Marks. The earliest known Marks edition is dated 1827. The map extends to Forty Fifth Street and features the large "Parade" which fills the land between Twenty Third and Thirty First, and between 4th and 6th Avenue. This grand park remains today in the much smaller Madison Square Park. The original covers are not present with this scarce pocket map.
