Finely engraved, small map of Crete filled with place names, including the Laberinthus, next to a tiny depiction of the mythological Labyrinth of the Minotaur. The map is adorned with a strapwork cartouche filled with a short history of Crete, and on the bottom of the map, a pair of sphinxes guard the scale of miles. The surrounding seas are stipple-engraved with calligraphic titling. Latin text on verso.

Nice dark impression with attractive color. The bottom margin is a little narrow and has been extended to better accommodate framing.
