1) Plan de la Ville de Peking is an interesting plan of the city during the Qing dynasty, shown divided into Ville Tartare and Ville Chinoise sections. The Emperor's Palace lies at the heart of the Tartare city. The locations of the French and Portuguese Jesuits are also shown, as is the Tour des Mathematiques and the Maison de la Propagande. Created by Bellin, hand colored, measuring (6.5 x 8.25").
2) Observatoire de Peking tire du Pere le Comte shows a tower filled with ornate astronomical tools including an azimuth, a celestial globe, a sextant and a zodiacal sphere. Engraved by Bovet and engraved by Bagouy. Black and white. (10 x 6.9")
