This is one of the most beautiful plate books on the United States and Canada ever produced. Includes forty-seven beautifully rendered, steel engraved views and over 500 wood engravings, many full-page. Works by Thomas Moran, Harry Fenn, Granville Perkins, F.O.C. Darley and other important American artists of the 19th century. Two volumes in matching bindings in full leather, fancy tooling and embossing with gilt, raised bands on spine. Volume I - 568 pp., Volume II - 576 pp. Full gilt on all page edges (T.E.G.).
