This handsome small map of the Americas is sparsely detailed, but interesting none the less. The western coast of North America is truncated with a partial coastline and a notation indicating a possible Northwest Passage per the supposed discoveries of Admiral de Fonte. The British Colonies are confined east of the Mississippi River. This is the second state with the date removed from the cartouche and the comment concerning the discoveries of Admiral de Fonte added, published by Fortin.
