Very attractive map bounded left and right with historical and contemporary information, in French. Lewis and Clark's important route is delineated in red. Alaska is controlled by Russia, Mexico controls the entire Southwest and California. The exploration of Francois Pizarro is shown in South America. Many long explanations of explorations and voyages are all keyed to the map through hand coloring. The text also provides information on the commerce and production of the area.
