Only the major river systems and lakes are shown on this unusual map of the continents. In North America, there are faint outlines of the Sea of the West and the river and lake system making up the mythical Northwest Passage. Alaska is an elongated landmass stretching toward Asia. In Africa, the Nile is shown originating in twin lakes located north of the Equator. Australia is very misshapen with Tasmania still attached and an incomplete northern coastline. French text surrounding the spheres conveys explanations to the map.

An excellent impression, with one small spot of printer's ink in the lower margin and a bit of faint toning along centerfold.
