A scarce plan of Cambridge details the early university town with a decorative key to the important structures in the bottom of the map. The many colleges are noted, as are the markets, churches and other buildings of note. A dedication to Rev. Francis Turner is supported by a pair of putti and topped with a crest and miter.

David Loggan (1634-1692) was born in Poland, and emigrated to Oxford, where he worked on a publication detailing all of the Oxford colleges. This was named Oxonia Ilustrata, and it was published in 1675. He followed this with a similar work on the colleges of Cambridge, Cantabrigida Illustrata, which was published in 1690.
