A beautifully engraved map covering northeastern Italy and Istria on the northern shore of the Adriatic. The map is focused on Venice but extends south to Florence, west to include Piacenza, Ferrara and Crema and north to the Alps. Fantastic detail of the countryside identifies small villages, roads, topography, rivers and more. The fortified cities of Urbino, Bologne, Modena, Mantova, Vicenza, Parma are located. The large and very handsome title cartouche depicts royalty, soldiers, Mercury and the allegorical figure of Fame above the coat of arms of Venice.
