An uncommon map based on the manuscript charts of Juan Lopez de Velasco, showing the line of demarcation to Spanish advantage. This is a later Dutch edition of the region from the southern tip of India to the Solomon Islands and north to Japan, which is shown as one large island (Xapan) with a little archipelago underneath it. The coasts of New Guinea and Java are incomplete, and the Philippines are shown with an incomplete coast for Luzon. To the right is a numbered key to three major island groups: the Moluccas, the Philippines, and the Ladrones.

Superb impression with a couple of rust spots in the bottom margin, one with a small hole, not affecting the map.
