An uncommon, and valuable reference source produced in WWII-era London. In the front of the book are a pair of notes from the publisher, one requests that collectors who no longer want their copies of this catalog to return them to the publisher, or pass them along to others due to the lack of available paper, and the other requiring U.S. purchasers to pay with "Dollar Drafts, Checques or Postal Orders" due to an order of Defence Regulations. This catalog contains a great many important maps that are rarely offered on the market today. Includes folding reproductions of Typus Geographicus Universalis, "the first issue of the famous Holbein world-map. Basel, 1532" (14.8 x 9.8") offered for £175.
