This is the German edition of the Tanner/Mitchell map from the New Universal Atlas, with a German title but English place names. This edition was from Meyer's Grosser Zeitung Atlas, published in 1853 or later. The map is filled with detail and includes a chart with the routes for the post, steamships and canals. The chart to the right of the map shows the population growth in New Jersey counties from 1820-1840.
