This detailed map of the northern tip of South America includes those regions that would become Venezuela, Panama, and Colombia. The Orinoco River is shown to the right of the map, as is a portion of the fictitious Lago de Parime with the mythical Manoa el Dorado on its shores. Adorned with a graceful cartouche, it was engraved by Antoine de Winter.
