A rarely-seen sea chart on two joined sheets detailing the coastal areas from Labrador down to the top of South America, and across the ocean to Ireland and south to the northwest coast of Africa -- with notes on the islands and hazards in between them all. According to the legend at the top left, Bowen referred to the map of the Atlantic made by Maurepas in 1738 and D'Anville's 1751 map of North America for the details of his chart. Published by Mount & Page; not seen on the market for the last 13 years.

A few stains, including some on the left part of the map that have been backed with tissue. Still an attractive map on sound paper.
